Transforming And Enriching Lives Through Music

Huddersfield Town Hall – ‘Our Biennale’ Concerts

20 November, 2018

We are delighted that pupils from our music centre have been asked to perform at two very special concerts in Huddersfield Town Hall next month.

The free concerts (both on Tuesday, November 20) will round off a new arts and culture festival called ‘Our Biennale’, created especially for children and young people in Kirklees and Calderdale. Internationally acclaimed guitarist Craig Ogden will be working with the students and performing during the evening. The concerts will also feature new pieces by local musicians Callum Dewar and Eleanor Cully.

Rehearsals

In the run up to the event, there will be two important rehearsals for all guitarists taking part. These will be on Wednesdays October 24 and November 14 at Netherhall Learning Campus High School, Nether Hall Avenue, Rawthorpe, Huddersfield, HD5 9PG. All guitarists will rehearse together 7.00 – 8.00pm, followed by a run through with Musica Youth Orchestra 8.15 – 9.15pm.

School permission letter

There is also a rehearsal on the day of the event (details overleaf) for which your child will need permission to be absent from school/college. Attached is a ‘School Permission’ letter. Please enter your child’s name in the space provided and submit to your child’s school as soon as possible in order for the school to authorise the absence.
