Due to the pandemic we are having to do things a little differently. Our online lessons were a huge success during lockdown and we continued to offer these when schools reopened.
Keeping our pupils and staff safe is our top priority which is why at the moment some lessons aren't taking place in school and why our Halifax Music Centre is closed.
You can take part in an online interactive music lessons via video call with one of our Music Leaders until it's safe to see you again in schools and at our Music Centre. Sessions take place during evenings and weekends.
You can book a one-off 20 minute session for £10 or a block of 4 x 20 minute sessions for £40.
What You Will Need:
A device (ideally a laptop or tablet) with internet connection capable of video calling and equipped with camera, microphone and speakers.
A musical instrument at home to use during the lesson (instrument hire is available)
A parent/guardian must be present during the lesson if the online lessons is for a young person of school age.
How It Works
The lessons will be facilitated through Office 365 Teams. You will be provided with an email address, which will allow you to access this. Other applications/software, such as Zoom, Skype and WhatsApp will not be used.
All lessons will be 20 minute 1-1 sessions. We can only offer paired lessons where the two pupils are living in the same household and can be in the same room at the same time. Paired lessons with two pupils living separately will not be possible. Pupils should not go to other people’s houses to share a lesson.
Upon receipt of payment you will be sent your log in details and your teacher will be in touch to arrange your session.
A parent or guardian will need to be present during the session. Any sessions that begin without a parent present will be terminated.
There is the option to record the session for safeguarding reasons. If you would like to do this please speak to the teacher during the first lesson. Recorded sessions can be watched back as a learning tool too.
We will provide you with a Calderdale Music Trust email address. Please ensure that you use this email address to sign up and log in to Office 365.
Refunds will not be given for cancellations by the pupil.
