The orchestra rehearses at Todmorden C of E Junior and Infant School, Burnley Road, Todmorden OL14 7BS on Thursdays 4.15-5.15pm (term time only.)

West Calderdale Junior Orchestra was formed to encourage young players of all instruments to join together and perform in concerts, developing their instrumental abilities so they can eventually join Senior Ensembles. It also builds confidence in performing and helps young people make new friends. They play music in various styles from Traditional, Film and Classical.

In recent years the Orchestra have performed at the Town Hall, Todmorden, The Church of the Good Shepherd, Mytholmroyd, as well as taking part in the Skipton Music Festival where they won the Junior Ensemble Class two years in a row, and most recently the Rochdale Music Festival. They have participated in a massed ensemble performing Pirates of the Caribbean at the Square Chapel, Halifax.
The Orchestra writes and arranges parts so all players can access the music and perform.
