Transforming And Enriching Lives Through Music

Calderdale Folk Group

Calderdale Folk Group welcomes players of all instruments and abilities playing folk music from Britain and Ireland. We offer young people the opportunity to join a less conventional ensemble, playing folk music in a group, and contributing their ideas to the music we play. We play music from Irish traditional to contemporary folk and specialise in arranging our own versions of traditional tunes. The Folk Group welcomes all instruments and singers, no matter how long you have been learning for.

The Calderdale Folk Group rehearse on Wednesdays at the Halifax Music Centre (Calderdale Music Trust, Heath Campus, Free School Lane, Halifax) at 5:00pm for an hour.

If you have music lessons with the Calderdale Music Trust you can join any of our music groups for free. If you do not have lessons with the Calderdale Music Trust you can still join - there is a membership fee over £30 per term for the first ensemble and £10 per term for any other ensembles. Please ask the office for an ensemble membership form.
