Music Director - Lynn Hudson

CSI : Halifax was formed in 2009 to entice adults back into singing and, in that, it has been extremely successful. No experience of choral singing is necessary – there are no auditions - but a sense of fun and the desire to rise to any challenge presented certainly is. The choir sings in four parts (SATB) so is open to both men and women and draws its repertoire widely from world and folk music, current pop classics and staples of the classical repertoire. The ability to read music is not essential as it’s quite an easy skill to learn – you just follow the person sitting next to you!

CSI : Halifax is a really friendly and relaxed community choir numbering about 60 singers, many of whom haven’t sung regularly since their school days. The choir gives an informal concert at the end of each term to raise money for charity. In addition the choir has taken part in the Mrs Sunderland Competition in Huddersfield Town Hall, a performance of Karl Jenkins’ The Armed Man in Halifax Minster and given concerts in local churches. Lynn also conducts Halifax Young Singers so joint concerts with them are a lovely way of proving that anyone can sing at any age.

The only way to find out if CSI : Halifax is for you is to give it a try!

New members are welcome to come to a taster session for £4.
