In her youth Linda was leader of ‘The Other LSO’ (the acclaimed Leicestershire Schools Symphony Orchestra), and went on to graduate at the Royal Northern College of Music, studying Violin and Piano, as well as musical harmony/theory and history of music.
For a number of years she was a freelance violinist, playing with major orchestras such as the Liverpool Philharmonic and the Royal Ballet, then went on to train at Bretton Hall for the PGCE in High School and Peripatetic teaching.
On qualifying Linda worked with Bury Music Service and Calderdale Music Service. Linda is now solely with the Calderdale Music Trust as a teacher of upper strings, piano and ukulele. She is the Musical Director of Strictly Strings, the West Calderdale Junior Orchestra and Adult Strings, as well as string mentor/assistant for the Calderdale Youth Orchestra.
Linda has also played with the Todmorden Orchestra, The Orchestra of Square Chapel, an informal Piano Trio as well as a group called ‘The Sentimentalists’.
