Transforming And Enriching Lives Through Music

Jennifer Trott

Coming from a folk background in South Wales, music has been a big part of Jenny's life since early childhood. She began violin lessons in school at the age of 8 and lessons at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama at 12. At 17 Jenny began teaching violin and ran a local string group, as well as playing for medieval banquets at Caldicot Castle, weddings and a number of theatre productions. She graduated with a BA in Music from the University of Exeter in 2007.

Returning to teaching violin and piano in 2014, Jenny is keen to inspire and encourage a new generation of young musicians. She is particularly interested in making instrument lessons more accessible to a wider range of pupils. She also runs the Calder Youth Folk group based in Hebden Bridge and works as a Youth Worker in Elland. Outside of teaching, Jenny plays and sings in folk trio Ghost School and blues rock band The Revelator Band, does modern jive dancing and is learning to play the guitar.
