Kevin graduated from Nedlands College of advanced education with a Diploma in Music Teaching. He also studied Educational Psychology at Post Grad level and received a NPQH.
Kevin spent several years teaching music in schools in Australia under the Country Priorities Programme, bringing education to young people in isolated areas. He has also been a semi-professional guitarist playing in bands and musicals such as We Will Rock You, and Little Shop of Horrors.
While working for Calderdale Music Trust (formerly Calderdale Music Service), Kevin has taught guitar and conducted the Calderdale Youth Guitar Ensemble which has performed in Australia, Germany and the Albert Hall. This group has been critically acclaimed as being at the forefront of ensemble performance.
Kevin was a member of the steering group which developed the common approach for all peripatetic music staff within the UK. He has also delivered presentations on new Music Hub delivery at the National Conference for the Federation of Music Services.
Kevin is the Director of Calderdale Music Trust.
