Laura started to learn the piano from the age of 6 and quickly advanced through the ABRSM exams and competed in local and regional festivals. She was involved in her school choir which sparked her love of singing. Laura also teaches oboe, flute and music theory lessons.

Laura has delivered music lessons and curriculum teaching in a wide variety of schools and has worked with pupils from all walks of life, alongside accompanying and directing choirs and leading singing workshops.

In 2017, Laura sang the lead soprano role in the folk opera "Calderland."

Laura runs and accompanies the Melody Belles choir who were runners up in Yorkshire's Got Talent in 2019. She is also the director of Square Chapel's "Cube Choir" which has over 70 members. Her passion for promoting the benefits of singing steered her to a CPD course on Dementia and the Arts and leading Calderdale’s “Singing for the Brain” sessions for the Alzheimer’s society, having since become a “dementia champion”.
